Had my nails done at Ali'i Spa Nails. Mani pedi and the works. The owner Piper is a wonderful artist. My friend and I are both very pleased with her work. All the shops we visited at the market place had owners that treated us very nicely. I was not impressed with the skin care sales person, he was passive agressive in a very deseptively sweet talking way. BBQ food truck was delicious and the owner was friendly.
The soap stand is amazing, and free samples that last the entire trip
You can get everything here greaT plzce
It has a great atmosphere and a little bit of everything ❤️
Good place for us visitors to find gifts for our loved ones back home. I was told by a vendor that the products are made by local artisans, which I prefer BY FAR over cheap imports from cruddy Wal..., well, you know...
Very pleasant market. Has hand crafted, unique items. Some expensive, some not but something for everyone. Worth the visit
Great stop with local vendors. Great food, nice shaded seating.
Manny makes a good pie. Quick and friendly service and the new dining room nice. Salads and sandwiches are excellent too!
Friendly nice local peeps. Butter has a both with local artist and things you will see no where else..
Small market good prices for friendly gifts
although I visited close to closing, I was still able to enjoy some Hawaiian shaved ice and mail a coconut back to my family. fun casual environment all outside!
High end shops. Clean and nice area.
Nice place for local arts and crafts. We scored some great smelling, great ingredients, locally made soap (she'll give some free samples to try out).
One of the best open air marketplaces on the Big Island. Jewelry, fresh fruit, clothing, and handmade items to share with loved ones back home. So if you need a pineapple for tonight's dessert, or a marker for the bookworm on the mainland, this is a perfect place to find all you need.
My wife and I love this market. It's got everything you would want from Local Art, Jewelry, clothing and more. Better prices too!
Unfortunately it looks like management is more focused on collecting rent as opposed to operating a healthy functioning market. Stopped by this weekend mid day to see 75% of the market had closed doors and listened to the open vendors describe the lack of traffic. Very similar to the embarrassment that is the international market place. Local sellers pay top dollar for a venue only to be failed by management
Loved my walk thru the marketplace. Had a Keiki size serving of shaved ice, found some amazing cards and bought a purse hancrafted by sew da kine in hilo. It was a pleasure to hold the gemstones , watch the geko and smell the kona coffee brewing. A must see in kailua kona.
Good place for souvenirs, easy parking and great shave ice!
Cute little market place. Mostly selling crafts, jewelry and local artisan goods. Worth the stop
Great joba and you can ALWAYS find unique gifts made locally. A great way to support the people on the Big Island.
This place is the cutest market to visit. They have amazing pieces of art made locally for cheap prices. There was one guy with absolutely beautiful photography that he was printing and selling. Another stall had someone making bracelets that looked amazing. We ended up visiting Gecko Girlz and had their Kona Coffee Freeze. This is what the Kona Coffee Freeze looks like. It tastes as good as it looks. I highly recommend visiting Gecko Girlz.
This place isn't anything special. It's an open air market with mostly clothing, jewelry, and other crafted items. The prices were higher than expected. The 5 of us tried 3 regular shaved ices. This ended up being too much shaved ice for us. It was also a bit pricier than I would have expected. It still tasted good. The one stand with some fruits ended up not being great. The fruits were overpriced and not great. We tried a $3 mango and it was only worth about a dollar.
This is a great little market. Wonderful local artist and unique items. Doesn’t have produce it’s heavy on the arts. Only a few of the clothing stores that seem to be everywhere. It’s in a park like setting with a few food trucks. Wonderful people. I think some people get it confused with the market in Kona. The one in Kona is larger and does have produce but it just many stalls with cheap tourist stuff. This market is high end and very pleasant.
Stop at the Dosa food truck Delish the Market place is very nice
People were nice it's like a small swap meet island style. We had shaved ice and ice cream which was delicious. Oh and Kona coffee which was yummy 😊😁
Nice place to have a quiet shop around. There's a lot of interesting things to see there.
Has just about everything. Alot to pick from as far as gifts and has food trucks. Easy access from road.
Great local shops! Found the perfect souvenir for a Notre Dame fan who also loves Hawaii!!!
Outdoor market ..I went there to get a personalized decorated coconut as a gift. They will also ship it for you (yes coconuts can be mailed)...who doesn't want a coconut in the mail?!? :)
Small but mighty marketplace. Amazing local craftspeople, great shave ice and places to relax in sun and shade
This is for the cooked food section. Great breakfast pancakes and omelettes. Amazing value for a quick breakfast place. I would recommend putting up a sign in the limited sitting area asking people to not sit down until they got food, which would greatly increase the seating accessibility.
We lucked out to find a Hawaiian music jam and to see sea turtles both in the water and on the beach. Helpful ranger.
Found thr greatest gifts st the best prices, many one of a kind
Sat and had shaved ice. Yummy😄. Bought a lava shirt. And painting on a plate.
A great little market place with many great vendors, but especially because of TJ'S BBQ!
Fantastic! An absolute must for visitors! Closed Mondays. All the vendors are very welcoming, friendly and not pushy. Would definitely recommend!
Nice group of shops and very nice place to hang out.
It's a good place to go to get souvenirs and at a reasonable price
Best shirts/clothing at the stand closest to the road, delicious lemonade, and yummy ice cream.
Read good reviews on Yelp, so we gave it a try Ribs were fall off the bone tender with a good BBQ sauce. They came with white rice, slaw and a pineapple slice. For me, I would prefer a different side for the rice and slaw. Husband had the Cowboy burger and he thought it was great. We will definitely eat here again on future trips.
This place was Great!! Large selection of merchandise, CLEAN restrooms and we enjoyed a wonderful outdoor meal of YUMMY Ribs for dinner. The ribs were a large portion which was enough for 2 and the burger was a double patty that was also delicious with there BBQ Sauce. Don't miss this place!!!Large grass area for the children to play while mom is close bye.
Great place for snow cones and finding unique gifts. There is an artist there that is only able to paint with his mouth and he is awesome. Plenty of parking in my opinion. Friendly faces. Live music often or nearly every time. Great place for a little date.
Items sold there are better quality than the other markets around.
Cute little market for local goods and souvenirs. The shaved ice is really good here!
Nice little spot to take a relaxing shopping break. All the vendors were very friendly and loved to talk story. Lots of options and offerings. Not the highest quality for apparel overall, but really fun to look through. Usually they have a BBQ food truck and a shave ice stand!
As Canadians we appreciated the Aloha EH! shirts they had there. Cute!
Mostly junk shops but there is a great shaved ice in the back that makes it's own flavors and is perfect on a hot day.
Located close to downtown Kona. Good place to go to get souvenirs. Everyone is nice there. Over 17 shops. Restrooms are available. They even had an Indian food truck. Parking is ample. You can get beautiful jewelry. Clothing is also available, including t-shirts and sandals. There is a place where they decorate coconuts. You can get items for your dogs and cats, as well. Enjoy!
I don't know how to spell his name but Sue-lein... who owns the corner clothing booths, it's like 4 or 5 booths that have hats, dresses, tshirts and many other Hawaii Branded clothing items, was super nice. He gave us the low down on some fabulous local eats that were indeed out of this world good. We visited little towns we would have certainly missed, if not told about them. I highly recommend giving he and his wife a visit, super friendly and generous about sharing local hot spots...Also the foam flowers for the hair, are a lot more affordable than if you were to shop in the bigger chain shopping markets...
Had a great time. Nice and quiet places to sit and have a great cup of coffee. Will go again. Enjoyed watching the Geicho munching on a M&M!
